At the start of this week, we welcomed Ms Jade Rolph and Ms Fran Johnson of the Alzheimer’s Research UK Charity, which is based in Cambridge, to a cheque presentation ceremony during a College assembly.
The £1,200.69 raised by the College will provide funds for sixty hours of world-class scientific research, making a real difference in the mission to defeat dementia, which is one of the biggest medical challenges of our time. Ms Rolph and Ms Johnson were very grateful for the efforts that all have made in raising the money for the donation.
The funds were raised last term through various activities organised by the Charity Committee. These included car washing, a non-uniform day, raffle ticket sales during the Autumn Concert, the sale of candy canes and finally the Staff Pantomime.
