Dicey Conference – Trinity College, Oxford

Unknown-10On Tuesday and Wednesday three of our students, Kat Twentymen, Kitty McWhirter and Andrei Balalau, participated in the Dicey Conference at Trinity College, Oxford.

Surrounded by eighty of the UK’s leading Sixth Formers, students listened to lectures from leading figures in public life and also first-class academics such as Professor Avner Offer, whose topic was ‘How should the welfare state be adapted to meet the needs of the twenty first century?’.

After a great day of intellectual debating and mingling, a formal three-star Michelin dinner in the beautiful Trinity Hall proved to be the pinnacle of the Oxford experience. The outing was an excellent opportunity for students to think about becoming involved in public life, and also to inspire some potential Oxbridge applications.

The conference was a success and proved to be ‘one of the most valuable educational experiences available to students today.’ (Hon Michael Beloff QC, Former President of Trinity College, Oxford).
