Invited to bat first once again, the College openers settled in quickly until Bridgstock was removed by the threatening Moulton-Day with the score on 13. Williman and Gooderham continued their rich vein of form putting on 41 before Williman, Brown, Gooderham and then Jones made the long walk back to the pavilion with the total still three runs shy of 100. Fortunately Tim Alexander and Toby Rider steadied things before accelerating the score beyond 200 with a flurry of sixes to enable Bridgstock to declare.
The Gents started briskly, but once the opening pair had been separated by Alexander and O’Neill, the run chase began to falter. Alexander continued to enjoy his afternoon with steady support from
his teammates setting up an exciting finale. Four wickets tumbled in the final four overs but the Gents survived the last two deliveries to salvage a draw.
